We’ve been hard at work behind the scene fine-tuning this site and adding new features. We are making great progress with this new site. We hope you enjoy the changes we are making. Here’s a little bit of what has been keeping us busy.
Data Migration
All 5,406 user accounts from the old site have been migrated over to the new site. For those of you who registered on the old account, your username will be the same as before, your email address is the username and the password you set when you registered. Once you login, you can set a “nice name” to display to the public. As part of the user migration, I had to encrypt the passwords. If you have any problems logging in, you can use the Lost Password feature to have a new password sent to you.
Unfortunately, due to the differences in the database schemas between the Article Dashboard site and the new Wordpress site, the old articles could not be migrated over. Given that spammers had a field day on the old site, this is probably for the best. Very few authors manually submitted. The bulk of the submissions came through Article Marketer.
Page Changes
The About, Terms and Learn More pages have been consolidated under the About page. This is more intuitive and reduces the amount of pages users need to browse to learn about what this site is and how they can benefit from it.
A new Jobs page has been added as well. By default, this page lists Writer positions available in New York, NY; however, the very simple job search form allows you to search for any kind of job in any region of the United States. If you are an employer and you want to post a job opening, we have provided an option for you to do so.
New Article Features
The EZine Ready textarea box has been fine-tuned with better formatting and has a new attribution style. Instead of the credits to the article being appended to the end of the article, like with all other Article Directories, the Author and Directory credits are located directly under the title, just like what you would see on major media sites.

A list of Related Posts has been added at the bottom of every article. These posts are pulled from the database using a keyword search method. This feature helps guide users to additional content that is well suited for use on their sites. This can also help guide authors by showing who else is writing articles that are related to their own.
The ShareThis plugin has been replaced by the new ShareThis widget. This new widget features more social media sites articles can be submitted to and the ability to send the article to email, Facebook, MySpace, SMS and AIM. This widget has also been configured to only show on the full article page, thus speeding up page load times.
We’ve added Comment Email Subscriptions for articles as well. Authors are automatically subscribed to the comments of the articles they contribute. Commenters have the option to opt-in or opt-out of email notifications of new comments on an article. At any time, Authors and Commentors can opt-out of posts they are subscribed to.
Adding Author Profiles Enhancements
On all pages, except full article/comments page, the Author’s name is a link to a page that lists all of the Author’s posts, like so… JMorris. On the full article/comments page, the Author’s name is the link to the Author’s website, if one is configured in the Author’s profile page. As with other areas of this site, this link is a “Do Follow” link, so there are numerous benefits to Authors who take the 10 seconds needed to setup their website link in their profile. Soon, the Author pages will be customized to include a Author Biography section to further enhance the personalization of this site for contributing Authors.

I’ve contacted Article Marketer and they have assured me that MyWebAuthor will be receiving articles soon. Their load is high right now and it is taking up to 30 days for articles to be submitted.
Ad Space Now Available!
If you are interested in advertising on MyWebAuthor, we now offer text link ad space in the sidebar of this site. We are also evaluating InText and graphic advertisement options. While the changes around here may not be drastic, and may have gone unnoticed, they are the fine touches that we are working on that will help make this site even more user-friendly. If you have any suggestions on how we can further enhance this site, please contact us.
