Five Categories of Classified Ads
Classified ad services are used for many different reasons. Following are five different types of classifieds ads that are commonly found.
1. Community
The community category in online classified ad services encompasses exactly what it sounds like: features that concern the community where you live. There are places for you to post ads regarding community activities as well as a way to connect with local people who share the same interests as yours. If you are new to the area, this is the best place to start.
Many community sections also post local events that will be occurring as well as various classes that are offered throughout the region.
2. Housing
The housing section of an online classified service is the home for ads that pertain to residence issues such as ads for homes that are for sale, apartments that are for lease, and where roommates are wanted and/or needed. You can also check out commercial listings as well as listings regarding vacation rentals. Want to swap houses with someone from another area? Check out this category of the online classifieds.
3. Jobs
If you need to find a job or have a job up for grabs, this is the area of the website that you should check out. The higher quality service businesses break up the ads by category such as administration, non-profit, food and beverage, customer service, and more. This just makes it easier to navigate through the section.
4. Personals
The personals section is a place for you to find that special someone. Most personals categories are broken up into sub-categories such as women seeking women, women seeking men, men seeking men, and men seeking women. There may be other sections that specify wanting casual encounters or if you’re just looking for a platonic friendship. You can also place your own ad and see who is interested.
5. For Sale
If you have something for sale or are looking for a particular item, this is the place to go. In this category of an online classified advert listing service, you can search through bikes, boats, collectibles, electronics, clothing, furniture, vehicles, and many, many other items that are up for sale.
Most for sale sections also have a “wanted” section so that you can place an ad explaining exactly what it is that you’re looking for. Write a wanted ad and see if you luck out - it’s worth a shot, and the better listing services will allow you to place an ad for free.
