Foods That Trigger Acne

Many people dealing with an acne problem do not realize that they are triggering their acne breakouts through the foods they are eating. It would amaze people to know that certain foods start the acne process in their bodies. It is very necessary for acne sufferers to use caution and learn which foods to avoid.

Any foods or beverages containing caffeine should be avoided at all times. Caffeine has a stimulant property that seems to aggravate acne. Coffee and soda drinkers that are addicted to caffeine will have to break the addiction in order to see their acne problem disappear.

Refined sugars found in most snack foods are a deterrent to clear skin. Refined sugars are destructive to the body and is responsible for many different types of illnesses in the body. The average American consumes roughly 120 pounds of sugar annually. If we do not realize the health issues that excess sugar causes. It has to be reduced if not eliminated in order to get acne under control.

Iodine found in certain seafood has to be avoided as much as possible. The iodine content found in seafood has been found to start acne breakouts. It also releases toxins in the bloodstream that lead to prolonged acne problems.

White flour has to be strictly guarded from your diet. White flour has no good value for our body. It does more damage than any other food. White flour is almost indigestible and is the main cause of waste buildup in the intestines. It mixes with sugars and binds waste together so that the waste cannot be eliminated from the body. The waste becomes hardened and stays in the colon causing a multitude of problems.

Alcohol beverages should be avoided as much as possible to prevent acne. Alcohol contains yeast which causes reactions in the body. Alcohol also slows down the metabolism which increases the chances of acne incidences. The body has a certain sensitivity to yeast.

Foods that are high in saturated fats contribute to acne. Most junk food such as pizza, burgers, and fries are high in saturated fats. The main reason they contain high concentrations of fat is because they were cooked in cooking oil containing high levels of fat. Saturated fats must be avoided to prevent acne. This is a difficult task when eating out at restaurants but at home it can definitely be avoided.

Dairy foods also contribute to acne. Milk, ice cream, and cheeses should be avoided as much as possible to avoid acne breakouts.

Some of these foods talked about affect people differently. Some people are more sensitive to certain foods than others but regardless these foods should still be avoided if an acne problem is to be improved.
