Buying A Cheap Acoustic Guitar
It was not that long ago that any cheap acoustic guitar really sounded like a toy, and there was really no redeeming factor around it. That was a thing of the past. With all of these new technologies, you will notice that there have been a great deal of significant improvements in the fields of affordable guitars. In fact today you can pick up some amazing quality acoustic guitars for a low price.
This is great news for many beginners as it now means you can buy fantastic guitars without having to spend over a thousand dollars for the privilege. And, you can have the opportunity to explore your musical whims without fear of a heavy investment.
Sadly cheap acoustic guitars are still seen as been second rate by many but there are some available that more than match the quality of tone offered by guitars that sell at twice the price. The quality has now improved so much that many professional musicians are happy to use the cheap acoustic guitars for all their playing needs.
What is even more exciting, is that as you get better, you will realize that you can only get certain sounds from certain kinds of guitars. With the affordability of guitars, you can now manage to own 2-3 different styles of guitar to get all the sounds you want.
The quality of the sound and build of many of the cheap acoustic guitars shocked me when I first started, I expected little as it was what I was always lead to believe when in many cases the differences between a good $200 and a $700 guitar are now minute.
The guitar cost of some of the best guitars are under $200 ( under $150 in some places ) and yet it is more than equal to some of the $800 guitars I have been able to play. There are other models that comes in at under $200 and could match up to many higher priced acoustic guitars.
What makes a great deal of the difference in the cost of the guitar has to do with two things. The first is where the guitar is made. You can get a guitar from a major manufacturer made in America and it will cost much more than one from the same company that was made in Asia. The second part of the cost is the components that make up the guitar. Beginner guitars often have less expensive gear making up the guitar.
Of course not all the cheap acoustic guitars available are alike that as they do live up to their poor reputation but this certainly can easily be avoided. Potential beginners in the past have been put off because they either couldn’t afford a good guitar or they didn’t want to waste money on a piece of rubbish but now because there are so many low priced guitars of exceptional quality this should be a thing of the past.
When you are ready to pick up your guitar, the best thing to do is go to a guitar shop, and play a bunch. Play expensive ones, and compare them to the less expensive ones. Pick a beginner model that is closest to the expensive one. In fact, you may even discover that you like the sound of the less expensive one better!
